Prime minister Justin Trudeau will become a member of world leaders in Kyiv on Monday Ukraine Marks the third anniversary of the full invasion of Russia, Ukrainian president VolodyMyr Zenskyy Said, as a Ukrainian diplomat encouraged to encourage Canada to “increase” its support.
During a press conference in Kiev on Sunday evening, Zenskyy confirmed that he will meet Trudeau personally – one of the 13 foreign leaders who attend a top about peace and safety for Ukraine.
“The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be here tomorrow with a visit,” said Zenskyy in Ukrainian.
“He is currently chairman of the G7, so he will tell me what happens to the relationship with the US”
The news conference was translated in English by Ukrainian broadcaster UATV.
The Prime Minister’s office did not publicly confirm the Trudeau trip and did not respond to questions about Zenskyy’s comments on Sunday.

This would be Trudeau’s fourth visit to Ukraine since the war began, and will almost certainly be his last as the Canadian Prime Minister. He said he will resign after a new liberal leader was chosen on March 9.
Zenskyy said that chairman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and representatives from Nordic and Baltic countries are also personally present to the top of Monday, and two dozen leaders will become a virtual member.
“This is an important opportunity to discuss the strategy of Ukraine and the framework for security guarantees,” said Zenskyy.
The allies of Ukraine try to strengthen the support for the war torn by war, while US President Donald Trump insists on an agreement to end the war. Trump administration civil servants have had conversations with Russia at the table without Ukraine and indicate that a final deal moscow could see at least part of the territory that it occupied, because the Ukraine originally invaded in 2014.
The US also seemed to accept Russia’s position that Ukraine should never join NATO and encourages Ukraine to give access to its critical minerals as compensation for American military aid.

Zenskyy said on Sunday that a deal with the US made progress on mineralsAnd that he would be ready to give up the presidency if this would reach a permanent peace for his country under the safety of NATO.
“If you have to reach peace, you really need me to give up my post, I am ready,” he said.
In response to the question of a journalist about whether he would exchange his office for peace, Zenskyy said: “I can exchange it for NATO.”

Both Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have called for elections in Ukraine, which were suspended under the State of Siege Zenskyy imposed when Russia invaded in 2022. Trump has called Zenskyy a ‘dictator’; Zenskyy had accused Trump of living in a ‘disinformation room’ that made American officials angry.
Oleh Nikolenko, the consul general of Ukraine in Toronto, said Global News that the rhetoric from the US is “counterproductive” and will only serve as “an invitation (for Russia) to commit more aggression”.
Ukrainian officials said Russia on Saturday 267 strike drones launched in Ukraine on Saturday, more than in another single attack of the war. Moscow has continued to dismiss ballistic missiles on Ukraine, including at least three on Sunday, while the officials had conversations with Washington.
Nikolenko said that Ukrainian negotiators insist on the US security guarantees as part of an economic or mineral agreement.
Trump and his advisors are calling on Europe to take the lead in strengthening safety for Ukraine, of which European leaders have said they are willing to do and Ukrainians say they are hospitable.
Canada must also be part of these security interviews, said Nikolenko.
“We think it is really high time for Canada to play a leading role at the moment,” he said. “Canada can really fill different gaps at the moment: military support, humanitarian, purchase, training of our forces.
“We really hope that Canada can perform its support at the moment, because we are in a critical time, I would say.”

Trudeau has called on Ukraine to be quickly taken to the negotiating table, something He said last week in a phone call with Zenskyy.
On Wednesday, Trudeau almost participated in a meeting with European leaders who were convened by French President Emmanuel Macron to come up with a response to Trump’s overtures to Russia.
Trudeau spoke with Trump by telephone on SaturdayAnd both countries said Ukraine was one of the topics of discussion.
Ottawa is an important donor of Ukraine, with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy Canada rank as fifth in general allocations in the Ukraine support tracker, which includes military, financial and humanitarian contributions.
Canada is in third place for the amount of financial allocations of Ukraine, in particular when promising loans that are intended to keep the country solvent and to provide financing quickly after it has been assigned.
But Canada takes the 20th place for military allocations weighed by the population, and analysts have criticized Ottawa for delays in delivering equipment requested by Ukraine.
The Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said last week that Canada “wants to be involved in protecting Ukraine” when the war ends, although Ottawa did not say what that could mean. Her office would not answer or that was Canadian troops on the ground in Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who will travel to Washington this week, has said that his government is ready to use troops in Ukraine to maintain a ceasefires -if there is a place.
The two leaders spoke by telephone prior to their American journey on Sunday and said that the UK and Europe have to show united leadership to support Ukraine in the light of Russian aggression, “said Starmer’s Office.
Nikolenko said that Ukrainians in Canada feel exhaustion and ‘anger’ as the war continues and the geopolitical landscape shifts, but would not say whether that anger is directed to the US
“Their anger is with the war – that war continues that Russia fires the drones and rockets on Ukrainian cities that Ukrainian citizens continue to die,” he said. “They are angry because they want this war to end in a just way.
“I want to emphasize that there must be a just peace, and this is what the Ukrainians want.”
