Hinako is a girl in a quiet seaside city that sought death since the loss of her family in a car crash several years earlier. Her world changes forever when she meets Shiori, a girl who looks normal, but in fact is a mermaid that fully intends to eat Hinako, as she apparently smells incredibly delicious. Hinako, in his dark depressive state, greeted it, but a friend of childhood Hinako, Mico, set between them. She finds that she is not a man, but a kitsun, the spirit of a fox who promised to protect Hinako for any price. However, like Shiora, Mico also reveals a aroma of hinaca intoxication. Can she keep Hinko safely until she also prevents herself from eating Hinako?

Volume 3 of this series of dark Yuri serves as a conclusion to the first “arc” of the series, as well as laying the way to the next arc. The first arc was mostly the introduction of characters and revealing the mystery of Mico, with the first half of this book, dedicated to the strong creation of the place of Mico in the life of Hinako. She can find her daily life extremely painful and difficult, under the pressure of consent as an ocean, but she also has a good heart that does not want others to suffer like her, but she does not see that Mico maybe she wants her She also lived, not be upset with another monster for the rest of her life.

To put it, I like the trick between Mico and Shiori; The dynamics of Frenemiah tease each other and work together so that Hinako does not eat other creatures – it is interesting to watch. I like Shiiori smiling and toxic positivity, while Mico is more direct and agile. Between them, we also get the largest info of volume: opening, when the “taste” of Hinako began to start. This is a mystery I look forward to when it unfolds when the series continues.

However, in the second half of the book, it is less discussed when the new arc begins with Hinako and Shiori, which goes to the beach, with a sunny day, destroyed by rain, anticipation of a warning about something that is still coming above the horizon. It is rather a setting than the head, with small treats, such as Hinko, even ready to go to the beach, despite disdain for the summer, and Miko encourages you to go on a trip, while it would never allow such a thing before. Unfortunately, this volume is not enough for a few pages. The book has five chapters and a bonus chapter, but one chapter is marked as a “anthrak” where nothing happens, except that Hinako repeats her feelings, which she clearly explained in the previous chapter. So it is felt as a waste of paper and readers’ time. Besides Hinako. So nothing can be obtained for fans, and mostly plays a teaser for the series (which may have been).

The art of Sayavava is still extremely good; The monsters are very detailed and cold in their presence, immediately set the tone of danger when they are on the page. The translation of Kaleb Cook is also well read, and the translation notes (as stated) are always appreciated, although I considered it strange that they were before the bonus chapter, not later.

We hope that we will get more content in the fourth volume, which will happen later this year, but Volume 3 feels a light snack, not full food.
