The workers of the southwest of ambulances arrested after six people died


Two ambulances were arrested by six adults because of the death, the police said.

The investigation was initiated in 2023, and last year a man was arrested in the thirties from West Wiltshire on suspicion of six cases of gross negligence and four cases of ill-treatment or willing neglect by a nursing worker.

A 59-year-old woman was also arrested in March of this year on suspicion of gross lack of negligence. The police have now only published details of the investigation and arrests.

The two employees of the South Western Ambulance Service were released for the deposit, said the Wilshire police.

“We can confirm that a large investigation in connection with several deaths for adults in and around Wiltshire in connection with the main criminal team of the armed forces is inspired.

“Our focus is on the support of families and relatives of those who died,” he added.

Detch ch Insp Walker said that the investigation has not yet been completed in 2023. The man in the thirties was arrested in June 2024.

“Since then, detailed inquiries have been carried out to determine the facts,” he added.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said that he had initiated an internal examination as soon as he became aware of concerns and since then “worked closely with the police”.

The service said that the two employees were “immediately relieved of all tasks, including the treatment of patients”, and adding one of the people are no longer used in trust.

“We would like to assure people that this is an isolated situation and that there is no persistent risk for patients. Please continue to call 999 in a life -threatening emergency,” added the spokesman.

After Crown prosecutorThe criminal offense of the gross negligence requires the violation of an existing duty of care, which leads to a serious and obvious risk of death.

The South Western Ambulance Service was last inspected by Health Watchdog The Care Quality Commission in 2022 and classified as “good” after he had made improvements for earlier inspections.

The trust was classified for care as “outstanding” and “good” for its reaction times, effectiveness and leadership.

The emergency and emergency services were classified as an improvement.
