The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is released on February 11

Sirens of the deep is an adaptation of the story “Little Sacrifice” written by creator Andrzej Sapkowski for his second the witcher book Sword of Destiny. The plot here is similar: performing his usual duty, going around killing monsters for hire, Geralt is faced with a political situation that he has no idea about until he is knee-deep in it.

Recently, a series of attacks took place in the seaside village. When Geralt sets out to investigate and possibly stab whatever is causing the problem, he discovers that the village is actually at war with an underwater kingdom of merfolk. To prevent the situation from escalating, Geralt, his traveling buddy Yaskier, and Essie (a new ally who only appears in this story) must face down and defeat a giant tentacled sea beast.

As you know, Henry Cavill left the role of Geralt after the last season, and to cope with this, the Mir studio found an ingenious solution: they hired Doug Cockle, the voice actor of the character in the video “The Witcher”. role play games here. If you’ve played any of those games, it’ll have a weird hybrid feel to it, as everyone else is voiced by their live-action series counterparts, with Anya Chalotra as Wengerberg’s Yennefer and Joey Batey as Jasquier.

But the animation looks good, and it’s based on Sapkowski’s true story without creative reinterpretation or unnecessary padding, so even if the live-action series doesn’t work out, we can at least have some good animation. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will be released on Netflix on February 11.
