The winners of the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards have been announced

Shogakukan announced the winners of its annual manga awards on Friday.

Kore Kite Shine

Minoru Toyodacomedy manga serialized in Gessan (Monthly Sunday Shounen) from November 2021. The sixth volume of the series was published by Shogakukan in August 2024. Kore Kite Shine takes first place in The 16th Manga Taisho Awards.

Shakunetsu Kabaddi (Burning Kabaddi)
Sports manga written and illustrated Hajime Musashino was published in Hooray for Sunday weblog between July 2015 and July 2024. A total of 297 chapters collected into 31 volumes were released during its existence, with Shogakukan releasing its final volume in December 2024. TMS Entertainment adapted the series into a 12-episode anime that aired in the spring of 2021. Shakunetsu Kabaddi ranks 19th in the category of male readers Kono Manga ga Sugoi 2017 ratings.

Natsume Arata no Kekkon (Arata Natsume is getting married)

Tara NogizakaThe psychological manga debuted in a bimonthly magazine A large Superior comic in June 2019, where it was serialized until January 2024. Shogakukan released the twelfth and final volume of the series in March 2024. The manga was adapted into a live-action film that premiered in Japan on September 6, 2024.

Puniru wa Kawaii Slime (Puniru is a Kawaii slime)
Wrote Maeda-kunthe romantic comedy manga began serialization in the weekly magazine CoroCoro comic in March 2022. Shogakukan has released six compilations, with the seventh coming out in February 2025. 12-episode anime adaptation TOHO ANIMATION STUDIO aired in the fall of 2024. The studio also announced that a second season is currently in production.

Shogakukan announced the nominees for the award last December. There were also winners and nominees Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki, Kagurabachi, Kujou no Taizai, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Black Alice, Manshu Aachen detachment, Yume no Shizuku, Kin no Torikagoand Red Blue.
