The 23-year-old Paloma Shemirani died after he had rejected chemotherapy after a diagnosis of a non-Hodgkin lymphoma

A top -class conspiracy theorist influenced her daughter to reject chemotherapy in favor of alternative treatments that ultimately led to her death.

Paloma Shemirani from Uckfield in East Sussex died in July last year -seven months after her diagnosis with non -Hodgkin lymphoma.

Ms. Shemirani, 23, had rejected chemotherapy in favor of juices and coffee finishes, which was used by her mother Kate Shemirani, a former nurse who was made for her views against accycination.

Coroner Catherine Wood said on Thursday ahead of Kent and Medway Coroners Court: “The influence that was needed on Paloma … more than minimally contributed to her death.”

After her diagnosis in December 2023, Ms. Shemirani lived with her mother and, according to her brothers, began five coffee -fine a day.

In July 2024 she collapsed at home and was brought to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where she died five days later.

An osteopath, the Mrs. Shemirani in the morning she saw together, told the investigation that he had “never seen a lymph mass in 43 years”.

Ms. Wood said Ms. Shemirani died of the progression of an illness that was curable but not treated.

Kate Shemirani accused the medical staff for the death of her daughter

She added that the treatment had given Ms. Shemirani an 80% probability of a complete healing.

Cambridge’s graduate had initially approved the treatment, said the forensic doctor and added that “doubts about the consent had only appeared after Ms. Shemirani was involved”.

The forensic doctor said that Ms. Shemirani was influenced by her own beliefs, her mother, father and friend of a friend of his friend, everyone who advocated the alternative treatment that she used.

“I found Ms. Shemiranis’s care incomprehensible for her daughter, but not illegal,” said Ms. Wood.

“It seems that if Paloma had been supported and encouraged to accept her diagnosis, and chemotherapy with an open mind would have been considered, she would probably have followed this course.”

Ms. Shemirani’s mother tried to blame the medical staff for the death of her daughter and previously described chemotherapy as “mustard gas”.

The employees of the Maidstone Hospital, where Ms. Shemirani was diagnosed, acted the Royal Sussex County Hospital and paramedic appropriately, as the examination stated.

Neither her mother nor her father – not -medical doctor Faramarz Shemirani – took part in the conclusion of the investigation.

Her brothers Gabriel and Sebastian Shemirani visited and said that the state “failed” by not classifying the death of their sister as illegal killing, even though they recognized a violation of their mother’s care.

Gabriel told the investigation: “I accuse my mother for the death of my sister” and added that she had “disabled” his sister to receive treatment.

The forensic doctor found the “striking” family function, which she had “very public” during the examination.

“The dynamic within the immediate family was complicated and dysfunctional at the time of the death of Paloma,” she said.
