The resident replied that the mayor’s approach was ‘not friendly’.

The mayor is now confronted with a recall after his comments at the municipal council meeting, although it has only collected 6% of his goal of 20,000 signatures. He has had to deal with his controversial movements, including his decision to extend the mayor conditions from two years to four.

“Mayor R. Rex Parris has given a priority to personal profit for the well-being of residents for too long. His administration is characterized by maladministration, controversial policy and a neglect of transparency,” is a recall petition.

“Lancaster deserves leadership that listens, serves and the community elevates – not one that distributes and exploits it,” it adds.

But Parris has re -confirmed his position to give homeless people illegal drugs That kills thousands of Californians a year. He told Fox 11 on Friday that he does not regret his comments and that he referred to homeless criminals who “refuse” to seek help.

“I made it very clear that I was talking about the criminal element that was left out of prisons that have now become 40 to 45% of what the homeless population is called,” Parris said.

“They are responsible for most of our robberies, most of our rapes, and at least half of our murders,” he continued. “There is nothing we can do for these people.”

The mayor has not provided any data to support his claims about the number of crimes that homeless people are responsible.

Parris said that he did not expect that his comments would be taken ‘literally’, telling the outlet that Fentanyl is ‘so easy’ to obtain on the street that it would not make a difference if the city offered the opioid to the homeless for free.

The mayor tried to credit Lancaster for providing more “innovative” solutions to the homeless crisis Then other American cities and drove the idea of a federal “purification” to reduce the homeless population.

“To be honest, I wanted the president to give us a cleansing. Because we have to purify these people,” said Parris.

“Now, is it hard? Of course it is hard,” he continued. “But it is my obligation as mayor of the city of Lancaster to protect the hard -working families who live there, and I can no longer do it … It is an untenable situation, and I am open to a solution … I want these people from our city.”

Parris, who has been a mayor since 2008 and won re -election last year, also made a controversial move in 2018 when he suggested to forbid clothing codes in the workplace for which poaching are needed about claims that they limit blood flow to the brain.
