Suspect in Minnesota -Schiet party linked to security company, Evangelical Ministry

A man called Vance Boelter is said to have shot and killed Melissa Hortman, a Democratic Minnesota state representative, and her husband Mark Hortman in their house early on Saturday morning, and according to the law enforcement for a police officer. He reportedly shot the state of Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette Hoffman at their house. They live, but stay in critical condition.

Law enforcement has said they have found a manifesto and hit list In the car of the alleged suspect, including politicians, abortion providers and proponents of pro-abortion rights. There were also allegedly pilots in his car for the protest “no kings” against President Donald Trump, which took place in cities in the US on Saturday.

The 57-year-old, who has been identified by law enforcement as the suspected shooter, has an armed security service with his wife and is affiliated with at least one evangelical organization, a ministry that he has also run with his wife, according to a tax application assessed by Wired. (His wife could not be reached immediately for comment.) According to public registers and archived websites assessed by Wired, the suspect served for a while as President of Revo Formation Ministries. A version of the Ministry’s website that was recorded in 2011 has a biography in which he was arranged in 1993.

According to an archived website for the ministry assessed by Wired, the missionary work of the suspected shooter brought him to Gaza and the West Bank during the second Intifada, where, the website, states that he was looking for ‘militant Islamists to share the gospel and to tell them that violence was not the answer.“

A later version of the site was designed, according to an archived copy, by Israeli web design agency J-Town. Charlie Kalech, CEO of J-Town, says Wired that the alleged suspect was in his memory “Clearly religious and evangelism. He had many ideas to make the world a better place.” The suspect, of which Kalech said it was “nothing but nice for me”, commissioned J-Town, remembered Kalech because they were based in Jerusalem, and he said he wanted to support Israel.

A Facebook profile under the name of the suspected shooter was briefly viewed by Wired before it was deleted. His profile had shown him that he “liked” various evangelical mission organizations, as well as pages in honor of Reinhard Bonnke, a German Pentecostalist who is known for missions in various African countries, and Smith Wigglesworth, a British evangelist who influenced the Pentecostal Movement. He also ‘found’ the Alliance Defending Freedom ‘fun’, a conservative legal advocacy that is known for its hard positions against abortion and LGBTQ rights.

The suspected shooter also seems to be the director of security patrilles at Praetorian Guard Security Services, a security company that founded the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas with his wife Jenny. The company advertises residential security patrols and uniformed security patrols. “We only offer armed security. If you are looking for unarmed guards, work with another service to better meet your needs,” says the “Red Lines” section of the company’s website. The website also states that their “guards” can buy the “best personal protective equipment money.”
