Every offer requires government financing and organizing the Solheim Cup on the most important events of the British sport that the goal list organizes, which also includes the FIFA World Cup in 2035.

Only last month did the departing chairman of the British Sport Lady Katherine Grainger frustration that Great Britain does not organize major events in the coming decade.

“We don’t want fallow years,” she said BBC Sport. “After 2028 we didn’t really mention anything. That is a pretty big opening.

“There are numerous events that are still there for the taking. It is quite clear why these mega events are so important to the country, and yet we may not have made the matter clear.”

It will take at least a decade before the Ryder Cup can be performed in England – Bolton organizes a daring attempt to hold the 2035 match – so the time would seem ripe for the Solheim Cup to come to England for the first time.

More immediate, reid – certainly a compelling candidate for the CaptainCy 2030 – and Caroline Hedwall from Sweden have been announced as vice -captains to Nordqvist for the 2026 match in Bernardus in the Netherlands.

“If the Solheim Cup happens, I want to be there for Europe how I can contribute,” said the 37-year-old English woman, who is a seven-time winner on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA.

“Some of my most precious core memories have been during a Solheim Cup week and in that European team room. I am honored that Anna asked me to be one of her vice captains.

“I know she will be a great leader, and I am so happy that I will be there to support her and the team and to help Anna and the team successful in every way.”

Attention this week is firm on the women’s game, with the first major of the year, the Chevron championship, held in the club in Carlton Woods near Houston in Texas.

Charley Hull leads the British challenge. The 29-year-old English woman has already brought three top-11 finishes this year.

The Kettering Player is ranked at 10 in the world and is having her first big title in an event in which world number one Nelly Korda starts her defending defense on Thursday.
