Satisfactory meets Genshin Impact in Arknights: Endfield, for which registration for the second beta test has already started

I’m having a hard time getting my head around this Knights: Endfield. This is one of those games for which there are two versions. Arknights: Endfield is one of those games, much like an anime gacha game, filled with adjacent anthro women for you to throw down and fight against in flashy, emotionless combat. Arknights: Endfield is also one of those games, a factory simulation where you build complex systems to produce something. It’s a combination I can’t quite figure out, but I’m signing up for its next beta test, so maybe I can figure it out.

Registering for the test is quite simple, just go to the website official websitecomplete a small survey and at some point you may be informed that you are participating. There are no guarantees, but if you want to play it, there is no real risk involved. This is actually the second beta test of the game and according to the press release, it will be slightly different from the first one.

First, the story has apparently been completely reworked, from new cutscenes and dialogue to the choices you can make that “lead to unique outcomes.” There’s also a new region to discover called Wuling, “a region that combines Eastern aesthetics with futuristic elements, combining tradition with contemporary.”

The test includes nine new Operators to try out, and combat has also been slightly refreshed with new skills, improved abilities, and updated bosses. Of course, there’s also a whole factory system to try out, and the controls and graphics throughout the game have apparently been “improved.”

Again, it seems a bit odd that Arknights: Endfield is essentially two games in one. I understand that the original has some strategic roots, so I feel like the factory simulator might appeal to a similar type of audience, it’s just clunky. I wonder how the game will reckon with its sense of self because of these stark differences. There is no release date for the game yet, so I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
