Pixar announces Coco 2 – anime superhero news

If it seems that nothing is dead in Hollywood, here is some final proof. Today, during an annual meeting of Walt Disney Company Pixar, the Coco continuation was working.

The 2017 movie is highly appreciated as one of the best works of the modern Pixar era, as well as one of the most emotional ones. This is followed by Miguel, a 12-year-old boy with a passion for music that is deterred by his family. Seeking answers, it ends in the country of the dead and reveals a true story that stands for its family history. (Coco also initially opened with a really long Olaf cartoon … Remember the whole fiasco?)

“While the movie is only in the initial stages, we know that it will be full of humor, hearts and adventures,” said CEO Bob Gervo for the crowd. “And we can’t wait to share more soon.” Lee Unkrich, the director of the First COCO, as well as the history of toys 3, will come back to direct the continuation of Coco next to his co -director Adrian Molina. Mark Nielsen (toy history 4, Inside Out 2) was used as a producer.

The main obstacle to Coco 2 is … well … no coco. Spoiler Warning: Grandma Coco died at the end of the first movie. We are aware that the very premise of the movie opens the door for her to return as a skeleton, but it will somehow destroy her character.

Pixar once said that this movie did not have a revised title (they were going to go with “Dia Dia de Los Muertos” at one point, but then found that you could not trade brand of the Mexican holiday as a Disney brand). They settled on Coco because it was an emotional core of history. But how to make it an emotional nucleus of two stories after the arc that surrounds it was solved? This is what Pixar writers will have to understand, and we hope they can.

If everything goes well, Disney assumes that they can bring Coco 2 to theaters in 2029.
