The brother of a man who was stabbed to death by his mentally sick son said that the health services and the police had not passed his family.

Brenton Marriott died in the hospital after being stabbed Rudi Marriott on August 5, 2022 in Cloister Street in Nottingham.

“Rudi was part of a loving family and he was a delightful person,” he said.

“Even if my mother lost the use of her legs, Rudi would help us and support us.”

He said Rudi’s mental health worsened after suffering serious head injuries about 10 years ago in a street attack, which led to weeks in the hospital.

“He was badly beaten, he put a dog on him, and at that time Rudi’s personality changed,” he said.

“He couldn’t really talk or work at all [in hospital]But when he started talking a little, he complained [about] His head and said his head didn’t feel right.

“Then he complained that he heard voices in his head.”

Delvin claimed that Rudi’s report on listening to voices was “not taken seriously” when he was in the hospital and his condition was still difficult after he was back home.

“He was definitely much worse, much more spirited, very nervous,” he said.

“Sometimes he didn’t want to speak [and] Just show signs that things were not right with him.

“We only worked on him to try to make him calm – we tried to get him help.”

Brenton and his brother gathered to support Rudi, who also turned to mental health services to try to get support.

“He [Rudi] In the hospital he was waiting to be seen – 13 hours once, five hours in the next – he tried to get help through the system, ”said Delvin.

“He knew something was wrong, but again nothing came of it.

“He didn’t get any help, he was never seen in the hospital, and we just tried to help him.”

After a time of better health than he lived with his partner at the time, Rudi’s condition deteriorated again in 2018 when he started to have a microchip in his head and stab the walls at home.

Delvin said that the family had been in contact with the Nottinghamshire police, even after an incident in 2019, when the officials were present alongside a nurse of mental health, which decided that Rudi did not have to be shared.

“I thought something would be done at that time,” he said.

“They were told about his circumstances how he did not have control over his thoughts and he is very delusional, and we thought that this would be okay, but they thought Rudi was no harm to himself and no damage to himself Public. “

Delvin said the reaction of the authorities “completely isolated” the family and “nowhere to go” as their fears.

Rudi’s mental health problems continued and in August 2022 he stabbed his father 75 times.

“He was only very delusional because he believed what was going on in his head. No matter what they said about reality, it had no effect.

Delvin said that he was still feeling the pain of his brother’s loss, who was “more or less a superhero” for the way he cared for Rudi.

Despite the pain, he says that he awards his nephew for the “devastating” attack and saw him in the hospital.

“It’s just a tragic, terrible, terrible event,” he said. “I love my nephew, but he took my brother’s life.

“I forgave him, but it is such a turbulence of emotions that it is so difficult to understand.”
