Melanoma patients in England are given quick access to the cancer vaccine | Skin cancer

Patients with advanced skin melanoma in England are given quick access to one “Revolutionary” New cancer vaccine as part of an NHS study.

The vaccine, known as ISCIB1+ (immunobody), helps the immune system to recognize cancer cells and therefore better react to immunotherapy.

The study is part of the expansion of the Cancer Vaccine Launch Pad (CVLP) from NHS England, a program for quickly justified patients with studies on the development of vaccines in the next participating hospital.

The CVLP has already helped thousands of Nhs Patients Access to studies with a personalized vaccine against colon cancer, with more than 350 people being considered and are now expanded to include a study against melanoma. The aim is to provide 10,000 patients in England in Great Britain by 2030.

The NHS has teamed up with the Life Sciences Company Scancell to expand access for patients in hospitals across the country. Seven locations first register and the first patients who are expected to be transferred next month.

Melanoma is the fifth most common cancer in the UK and corresponds to about 4% of all new cases.

Prof. Peter Johnson, the NHS National Cancer Director, said: “Skin cancer can have devastating effects, and we know that cancer vaccines have the potential to revolutionize cancer care for patients in this country and around the world – and save more lives.

“It is incredibly exciting that the NHS is expanding its worldwide leading program so that more patients with various types of cancer can benefit from the development of New vaccines This could prevent your cancer from coming back.

“We would like to ensure that as many justified NHS patients as possible have access to these important studies. That is why we work with a number of industrial partners, since further studies are put into operation to ensure that patients are quickly a vaccine that could change life.”

The Prime Minister, Keir Starrer, said: “This type of innovation is nothing less than life-saving and I want more of these worldwide leading treatments in Great Britain. That is why we have taken measures through our plan for changes in order to fast our life sciences through steps for clinical tests-and to cut the breed band for researchers-that Great Britain is the best country in the world for medical research.

“This will accelerate the discovery of transformative treatments and improve the services for patients, whereby growth throughout the country is driving and ensuring that as many people can benefit from modern treatments as possible.”
