It is a hectic few weeks for Liverpool, where the Reds have competition matches almost every three days until the end of the month.

But it will be considerable in March when the Reds only play one league match – a home game against Bottom Club Southampton.

That does not mean that it is a quiet month, but Liverpool has the small issue of the EFL Cup final against Newcastle on March 16.

That cup final is why the game against Aston Villa was brought forward on Wednesday. Arsenal plays Chelsea at home in the Premier League on March 16 – at which point both clubs have nine games left.

On 4 or 5 March, Liverpool also has the first stage of their Champions League last-16 draw, when they will travel to one of Paris St-Germain, Benfica, Monaco or Brest. The return bone on Anfield takes place a week later.

Liverpool ended the season with a home game against Crystal Palace – at which point they hope to have packed the title.
