Using cooking station in Dreaming Isles

Unlike the simple cooking mechanics of many cozy games, Isle of the Dreamers version presents a more complicated and demanding system. While getting a kitchen station is quite simple, mastering the art of cooking in this game is a completely different story.

The tuna steak recipe seems to unlock automatically, but you’ll need to fix your boat to get better meals. For example, I found a book about swordfish steak near the Freestad dining room and another about a poached meat dish in Freya’s room.

Books sometimes provide potions instead of meals, using the same cooking station. This includes using Boletus for a Stamina Potion and Venom for a Mana Potion.

Without cookbooks, you won’t be able to prepare a meal, even if you have the right ingredients. This means you have to go on two searching adventures: one to locate the books and one to discover their ingredients. Obtain standard resources such as meat by defeating different ones Dream Islands enemies. You can get fish by winning a poker-like card game from fishermen or by pulling them out of a fishing rod yourself. Raw meat drops from birds in Scythe, where you can knock them down with your sword. Can you heal with meals on Dreaming Isles?

Typically, meals in the game heal your character, but for Dream IslandsThis doesn’t seem to be the case. I have already eaten several dishes and it has never increased my health bar. The only way to heal is to sleep, unless there is a formula which I am missing.

You will still earn buffs for your characters as you eat meals. Cooked Meat in particular grants an increase in Stamina for approximately five minutes. The rest of the foods provide similar buffs, but I haven’t seen one specifically for healing yet.
