The second man was arrested in connection with alleged attacks of arson addressed to real estate related to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the metropolitan police said.
The arrest of a 26-year-old suspect at the Luton airport on Saturday is followed by allegations against Roman Lavrynovych, Ukrainian, this week, after three fires, including one at Starmer’s family home.
The police investigate. 21 -year -old Lavrynovych was accused of three cases of arson with the intention of threat to life. The second suspect, whom the investigators did not mention and are to be accused, was arrested for similar reasons, the police said.
“The 26-year-old was arrested about 13: 45 hours on Saturday, May 17 at the London Luton airport on charges of a conspiracy aimed at committing arson with the intention of threatening life,” the police said in a statement.
“The arrest was made by officers to counteract terrorism from the Eastern Region’s operational unit. The man was admitted to the police detention center in London.”
“All [the fires] They have earlier connections with a famous public figure, and therefore officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism command conducted an investigation into fires. “
In addition to the fire in the Starmer’s family home in Kentish Town, North London – which is understood that he has been rented since entering Downing Street last year – another property associated with the prime minister in Islington also lit up, just like a car that was once on the same street, and a family home, everything in a week.
At the trial at the Westminster municipality, Lavrynovyd was detained on Friday before the trial at Old Bailey on June 6. He was arrested on Tuesday.
His legal team did not ask for bail.
Prosecutor Sarah Przylska told the court that his alleged crime was currently “unexplained”.
Przybylska said that Lavrynovych denied arson during an interview with caution. She claimed that he had used “acceleration” to start fires.
Lavrynovych spoke only to confirm his identity and translated the behavior of the Ukrainian translator for him.
