Fabio Wardley has rejected complaints of the beaten heavyweight rival Justis Huni’s camp about the conclusion of their fight, insisting that he would have left the Australian “unconscious” if the game had continued.

Great -Britain was better performed on Saturday evening in Portman Road and all three followed the scor cards of the jury members into the 10th round, but landed a beautiful right hand to floor Huni.

Referee John Latham waved the battle moments before completing a full 10-count, in which the civil servant seemed to have concluded that Huni was unable to continue.

After the competition, promoter Mick Francis, who is part of Huni’s management team, stood that his hunter should have had the chance to continue.

Francis said: “He just waved it off. I am sticking a protest at the WBA.

“It’s a world title **** ING, not a fight in the park. And they didn’t give Justis Huni the right chance.”

Wardley went to social media on Sunday and posted a video that he suggested that the count reached almost 10 seconds.

Wardley wrote on X: “For educational purposes. De Graaf plays the second Huni in the canvas. And it is the fourth official outside the ring that the count starts and the referee takes his queue from where to start …”

The Ippswich hunter, who brought his professional record to 19-0-1 when he remained unbeaten and then received answers to his post that suggested that the video showed the referee waving with the match within a 10-second count.

Wardley replied: “The referee may legally say goodbye to if he wants if he does not feel that the hunter is able to continue.

“Only making the count is not enough. You have to be physical, mentally, mentally and convince the referee that you are all there and be ready to continue. It was clear that he was not.

“And then the referee sends him out … I have fired a barrage of shots, made him unconscious. Then the referee is ridiculed for a bad decision. What outcome would you like?”

Speaking in a press conference shortly after the fight, Huni said that he “would not make a fuss” about the situation.

“It’s what it is,” said Huni. “I’m not going to make a fuss about it. It’s ready now.

“Fabio, he deserves to enjoy his victory.

“What are you going to do? Do you have a big argument about it? The decision remains the same. Credit to him and I will come back.”

Francis said that Eddie Hearn and Spencer Brown, both of whom are also part of Huni’s promotion and management team, agreed with his assessment that the fight had ended too quickly.
