Disposable Vape use in Great Britain before the government was banned

The popularity of disposable e-cigarettes or vapes is a lead over a favor Britain -wide prohibition A study found on their sale on June 1st.

The percentage of people between the ages of 16 and 24, which mainly use disposable vapes, has dropped by almost half from 63% to 35% last year.

In the UCL study, survey data on steam habits in England, Wales and Scotland were examined both before and after the ban was announced.

The study used data from the Smoking Toolkit study, in which data for 88,611 people aged 16 and over were collected.

Before the ban rose between January 2022 and January 2024, which rose from 16 and more from 8.9% to 13.5%.

In young adults between the ages of 16 and 24, the use of 17% increased to 26.5% more.

After the ban had been announced, the researchers found that the number of steam, which mainly use disposable e-cigarettes-in all age groups and especially under 16 to 24 year olds.

Dr. Sarah Jackson, who works for the UCL tobacco and alcohol research group and is the leading author of the survey, says the BBC that she believes that “more people turn backfillable, reusable devices” instead of stopping steam overall.

“We often see that people change their behavior in response to upcoming political changes before dealing with it,” she adds.

Einweg vapes are individual usage devices that are pre-filled with vape fluid, while refillable and rechargeable (reusable) devices have a longer shelf life and are often a cheaper way to vape in the long term.

Dr. Jackson adds that Vape manufacturer also quickly react to the upcoming ban. The “most popular” disposable brands produce rechargeable versions of their most popular models.

“They are very similar in design, colors, flavors and even price,” she says.

While Dr. Jackson believes that it is too early to say whether the government’s new strategy will deter young people from Vaping, she claims that health legislators are exposed to “a problem of balance”.

“We know that it makes sense to do something to reduce the large number of young people who take up vaping, but the most important priority of public health remains smoking,” she says.

“This is far more harmful and kills many people every year. So we have to make sure that all political measures that are introduced to combat youth vaping are not stopped with vapes with smoking,” she adds.
