Conor McGregor has announced his presidential run Irelanddays after a visit to the US president Donald Trump In the White House.
McGregor, 36, shared the news on Instagram on Thursday and made his pitch to the people of Ireland for the largely ceremonial position in a long -term caption next to a photo of itself that wears a “Make Ireland Great Again” hat.
“Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by 12 June 2026. So between now and 12 June 2026, different documents must be adopted by both houses of the OireActas and then signed by the president. The following presidential elections must be taken by 11 Nov 2025,” he wrote to his more than 46 million followers.
“Who else will stand up against the government and resist this bill? Every other presidential candidate they try to place will not be opposed to them. I will do it.
“It’s the people of Irelands [sic] choice! Always! That’s a real democracy! … This is the future of Ireland with me as president. All citizens of Ireland have a voice and a choice for their future! God bless our people. Vote McGregor and let your voice hear. ‘
McGregor still has a long way to go if he is serious about the career change in politics. Presidential candidates in Ireland must be nominated by at least 20 of the 234 members of the lower and upper houses of the parliament. As an alternative, they could be nominated by four of the 31 local councils of Ireland, according to the Ireland’s Electoral Commission.
The president of Ireland is chosen every seven years and can serve a total of two installments. The responsibilities of the president include representing the people of Ireland and signing legislation in the law and/or referring accounts to the Supreme Court.
Earlier this week, McGregor criticized the Irish government as he took questions from press about his thoughts about the current political landscape of Ireland on stage next to the Minister of White House Karoline Leavitt.
The first UFC Champion said he was in the White House to “raise the problems that the people of Ireland are confronted with.”
“It will be music for the people of the ears of Ireland, because on the main stage never has the problems that the people of Ireland are confronted with,” said McGregor, adding that he believes that the government of Ireland has left the voices of the people of the country.

“It is high time that America was informed of what is going on in Ireland. What is going on in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is the government of zero action with zero responsibility,” he said. “Our money is spent on overseas issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people.”
“The illegal immigration packet has been destroyed on the land,” continued the MMA hunter. “There are national cities in Ireland that have been flooded in one stroke, which have become a minority in one stroke. It simply has to be tackled.”

McGregor said that the “40 million Irish Americans should hear” what he intended to say in the White House during his visit.

“But let me be very clear: Conor McGregor is not here in the United States that represents Ireland or the population of Ireland. He is here on a personal capacity. He does not speak for Ireland. He does not speak for the population of Ireland. He has no mandate to do that and my opinion about him are very clear.”
McGregor responded by sharing a photo next to Trump in the Oval Office and wrote: “Ad Hominem style attacks against me that came in through Ireland [sic] Government elite. “
“What is your response / action plan on the problems I raised?” he asked. “Ireland wants to know. America wants to see!”
“Chip, chop now boys, don’t let me go. Do what you are told by the people of Ireland and we will have no problem here. That’s not and it’s over,” he wrote, before he said “orders” for the government to implement.
“You have twelve days to present a clear action plan, at 1. Disassembly Irish [sic] Human trafficking racket. 2. Massive expansion of dangerous, criminal and radicalized import, as well as anyone who has entered illegally, as well as anyone who is a pressure on our welfare system who have made no effort to protect or assimilate employment with Irish culture and values. 3. Adjustments of strict border protection to prevent this never happening again. “
McGregor had previously plagued a presidential run in last September A message on XWriting: “As a president I keep the power to call and resolve the dáil.”
“I would have all the answers that the people of Ireland are looking for from these thieves of the working man, these distorters of the family unit, these destructors of small companies, and so on!” He wrote. “These charlatans in their power positions would be called to answer the people of Ireland and I would have it done during the day.
