Greek agent Giorgos Panou is credited for launching the career of superstar Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and is now doing the same in football with the soon new striker Kostoulas from Brighton.
Just as he saw Antetokounmpo, when a second division of Greek basketball player in 2013, he saw Kostoulas, nicknamed ‘Babis’, 15 years old.
He is now about to have a record -breaking movement and, when he is asked how the two talents compare it, Panou replied: “I felt in the same way when I first saw Babis playing three years ago in a game under the age of 19, 15 years old, how I felt when I first saw Giannis.
“I immediately got the feeling that he is cold -blooded, enormous talent, with a great body language and ready to take older, bigger boys without feeling pressure. I saw a potential to grow.”
In the past, Chelsea has been introduced with interest in costolous, while Brighton is supposed to have defeated some of the largest clubs in Germany to his signature. So why move to the south coast? The answer may not be surprising.
“They won the family and myself with how they talk, negotiate, give all the tools to thrive and have a good track record of developing similar young talents,” Panou added. “So we feel very comfortable, and I am really sure that Babis will adjust very quickly in this area. It was a no-brainer for me.”
The former Greece -basketball assistant coach, now that mediates deals in two sports, believes that this is a golden era of Greek football -with Stefanos Tzimas also at Brighton from Nurnberg this summer, and Paok -star Giannis Konstantelias expects to move to a top fifty -fijf -fijf -fijf -fijf.
