In Volume 1 Associate Professor Akira TakatsukiWe met the main character Nava Fukamachi, a young man who is able to tell when someone is lying because their speech becomes distorted and painful to hear. After attending a folklore research lecture by Professor Akira Takatsuki, he gets into the eye of the professor and eventually becomes his assistant in solving the secrets related to folklore. With the second volume in your hand, let’s see how the couple enters!
We start this Tom with a secret concerning a group of elementary school students who claim to have caused the spirit of their former classmate through playing a game in Kokuri-san. Although it becomes evident that something much more human can be a mysterious case, Akira is still very enjoying the investigation and conducting his own play in Kokur-san to help put children concerned. And it serves as a strong starting point for the book, facilitating us back before diving into something deeper.
With three chapters that are included in another case, this is the second one that leaves the greatest impact. With the cold weather, which November brings, Nahoi finds himself from a cold that quickly turns into an ear infection. Fortunately, Akira comes to the rescue and takes him to a doctor who quickly treats him, but the consequences are left without the opportunity to hear a lie (in the end, in the end).
Suddenly, living a normal life, Nahoi tries to cope with her new reality. Without his ability, he is experiencing that he is in vain for Akira, and these feelings are deteriorating only when the professor is accepting a new business that is investigating a film studio with ghosts. Now he is not able to say who speaks the truth, and who is not, Nai feels dead. But he is also afraid to open Akir about the situation, without fear that he will no longer need an assistant, so he is silent until the guilt and disappointment slowly wrap him.
This is such a storyline I expected to happen at some point. In the end, because of the nature of Nahi, first of all, it seemed to be inevitable that they could disappear one day. And although it is only temporary, he is still an important experience for Naii and his relationship with Akira. It happened so early at the end that it would be more interesting than if the author Michage Savamura was waiting for not many keeping his relationship outside of work.
In fact, along with the study of Naii’s fears, this volume is also exacerbated by the fact that Naoi does not really know much about Akir. He becomes more aware of the fact that the professor has a wall around him (as Nari does!), And our main character has not yet missed him. Everything that Naii studies has survived Akira’s friends, not what the man opened. Will he be -something -anyone Akira feels comfortable to trust? It remains to see.
Although the focus for this contribution has moved to the greater development of the characters, the three secrets we are represented are still admiring. Savamura continues to balance the worldly and the supernatural, leaving readers (and our duet!) Guessing whether the incident is indeed rooted in the spiritual or not fully. Of course, it is very easy to understand how this series has gained such popularity, given the strong combination of the basic composition and mysterious element. I look forward to the story progresses over time, both in terms of the connection between Akira and Naoi, as well as the situations in which they will find themselves.
Associate Professor Akira Takatsuki Volume 2 comes west thanks to Yen Press under their imprint and continues to translate Catelin Smith. As in the first volume, this contribution reads well without problems. Since the series has no illustrations outside the cover, you can not speak in the form of colored pages, nor nothing else.
For those who want to take on more of this series, you will be glad to hear that Yen Press has already released six volumes of this month. However, 11 volumes (as well as some former books) are available in Japanese, so we still have a way before we caught up. There is currently no number 7 in the English schedule, which suggests that we are now a longer break.
In general, Associate Professor Akira Takatsuki The second volume is another solid recording in a series that is formed as a mandatory reading for fans of supernatural/secrets. We will slowly learn more about Akir and Naoi when they focus on the cases they represent, and it is useful to monitor them.
