Five people were shot in a center for adult education in Sweden On Tuesday, the police said. The conditions of the victims were not immediately clear.
The Swedish news agency TT reported, without providing its sources, that the perpetrator died due to suicide. The police did not confirm that report immediately, but would hold a press conference.
The Center for Adult Education is on the outskirts of the city of Orebro, which is approximately 200 kilometers (125 miles) to the west of Stockholm.
The school, called Campus Risbergska, serves students who are over 20 years old, according to its website. Courses for primary school and higher secondary school are offered, as well as Swedish classes for immigrants, vocational training and programs for people with intellectual disabilities.
The violence broke out on Tuesday after many students went home after a national exam. Police vehicles and ambulances, flashes, covered the parking spaces and streets around the school while a helicopter buzzed over the head.
Teacher Lena Waalsmark told SVT News that there were unusually few students on the campus on Tuesday afternoon, because many went home after the exam. She also told the broadcaster that she probably heard 10 gunshots.

Students sheltered in nearby buildings. Other parts of the school were evacuated after the shooting, which started around 12.30 pm local time (1130 GMT).

Andreas Sundling, 28, was one of those who were forced to be in the school in Barricade.
“We heard three pony and loud shouts,” he told the newspaper Expressing while protecting in a classroom. “Now we are waiting here to be evacuated from the school. The information we have received is that we have to sit and wait. ‘
It was not immediately clear whether the police counted the perpetrator under the five shot. The police said that no officers were shot during the violence.
“The reports of violence in Orebro are very serious. The police are on site and the operation is in full swing, ”Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer told TT.
During a press conference on the Swedish employment market, a different government official spoke to the violence in Orebro, which has a population of around 155,000 people.
“The government follows the developments very closely and has a continuous dialogue with the police about this,” said Mats Persson, Minister for Employment and Integration, Tuesday.
