KPop Demon Hunters 2 officially released in 2029

After months of speculation about the future KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix and Sony’s most popular collaboration of all time, we now have a concrete deal — a solid plan to make something. KPop Demon Hunters 2official sequel, has been approved by both parties and will soon go into production. Everyone is clamoring for an immediate sequel, so how soon can we see it? Um… Sit down.

Did you know that it takes an average of four years to create an animated film from start to finish? That hasn’t changed. And they start literally now, so… we won’t see KPop Demon Hunters 2 to dance on our small screens (or, dare we dream, big screens) until two thousand and twenty-nine.

Any material that will theoretically be created in the meantime has yet to be mentioned. The big talk of multiple spin-offs and TV shows and all that hasn’t materialized into anything yet, and there’s no guarantee it will. As for those rumors of a live-action remake? This is what we are now know isn’t happening because co-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans have publicly shut down the idea. “It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world. It would be too down-to-earth. So it absolutely wouldn’t work for me,” Kahn told the BBC last month.

A single piece KPop Demon Hunters, aside from this just-announced sequel, we can confirm mysterious short produced by the Sony Pictures LENS Mentoring Program. Called DEBUT: KPop Demon Hunter Storyit went into production two years ago, long before the movie was released and shot, and no one knows what it’s about. Also, it’s been MPA rated, which means it’s ready and just sitting on the shelf waiting for some discovery.

In my opinion, Sony and Netflix will have to come up with something. We will not repeat Frozen a strategy of doing next to nothing, leaving fans to starve, devouring fanfiction for years. A KPDH TV series or a series of short films would really hit the spot and fill the gap of this long, long wait.
