I love the 30 Days of Night franchise, so I was super excited to find out this week that it’s picking up again Falling sunand this first issue did not disappoint. 30 Night Days: Falling Sun was written by Rodney Barnes (Killadelphia), who collaborated with original series writer Steve Niles to bring the new story to life, and with art by Chris Shehan (House of slaughter). In 30 Night Days: Falling SunTwenty years have passed since the vampires descended on Barrow. Teenager Jalen James arrives in a remote Alaskan town just before the long polar night to stay with his uncle, looking for an escape from his life in LA. But unbeknownst to the townspeople, the vampires have started moving again, with revenge on their minds and their sights set on Barrow.
The first issue really sets the stage, reintroducing us to the vampires and giving us a sense of who’s who in Barrow now (and who’s still haunted by the violence of the past). I have high hopes for where it will take us.
