Deportation assignments issued to 3 Iranian regime officials in Canada: CBSA – National

Three people have not been found to stay in Canada in recent years as high officials of the Iranian regime, says the federal border agency.

Deportation -orders were issued for all three and one has been removed from Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency said Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Rebecca Purdy from Border Agency said that the agency cooperates very closely with domestic and international partners by sharing relevant information about issues of border and national security.

Those efforts include the support of the Agency for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which makes decisions about citizenship and immigration applications, including Visa, she said.

All Iranian subjects must apply for a visa to come to Canada and visa applicants are carefully assessed by the immigration department, she added.

The border agency investigates when it becomes aware of a temporary or permanent resident in Canada who may be inadmissible as a high official of a designated regime.

If the case is well substantiated, it will be referred to the immigration and refugee board, Purdy said. If the board decides that a person is inadmissible, it gives an order against them and the border agency to remove them from Canada.

From 6 June, approximately 17,800 applications were assessed for possible non -infection due to possible ties with the Iranian regime, while immigration officials had canceled 131 Visa and the border agency had opened 115 investigations.

Forty -nine of those studies were closed by the border agency, which means that the people in question were not in Canada or were not a high official in the Iranian regime and therefore not unacceptable, Purdy said.

The remaining cases are subject to ongoing investigations or enforcement measures, she said.

The border agency has asked the hearings of admissibility at the Immigration and Refugee Board in the cases of 12 people suspected of being senior members of the Iranian regime.

The hearings of admissibility have closed in five of those 12 cases, Purdy said.

Three people received deportation orders for senior regime officials. Two others were not found inadmissible, but in both cases the border agency is attractive for the Immigration Appeal Division.

There are six things going on and one has been withdrawn by the border agency.

“The CBSA works in an operational environment that changes daily and we are ready to respond and adjust ourselves if necessary,” said Purdy. “To tackle this situation, extra resources have been engaged to ensure safe border management if necessary.”

Spokesperson Noémie Allard of Public Security Canada said on Wednesday that the department and its portfolio agencies “continue to follow the remaining impact of the evolving situation in the middle.”

The law enforcement authorities of Canada “remain alert and work together to guarantee the safety and security of all communities in Canada during this challenging time,” she added.
