US President Donald Trump said “he could” talk to the Salvadoran authorities to organize the return of Kilmar Abrego Garciaan old resident of Maryland who was wrongly deported El Salvador By the US government in March, but says it is up to Salvadoran leaders to make the call.

The 29-year-old three-year-old father was removed from the US despite a judicial order from 2019 that held his deportation to El Salvador because of existing threats for his life in the country. Around 2011, Abrego Garcia fled illegally to the US, the year that he turned 16, according to documents submitted in his immigration case. He joined his brother, Cesar, now an American citizen, in Maryland and found work in construction.
He received a legal status in the US in 2019, but was arrested last month and flown to El Salvador on one of the several high -profile flights with alleged Venezuelan gang members, despite an existing order that forbids his return to the country due to threats of gang of prosecution.
The Abrego Garcia family was dropped by local gangs in El Salvador when he fled the country almost 15 years ago.
He and his wife have three children, including their five -year -old son, who has autism, is deaf in one ear and is unable to communicate verbally. They also give up a nine-year-old with autism and a 10-year-old with epilepsy.
His deportation was done as part of a broader government led initiative that held on illegal immigration.
