Top Official welcomes the historical legislation of Red State to protect election integrity

Exclusive: Wyoming’s Republican State Secretary celebrated after the State was the first in the country that legislation was adopted that required proof of citizenship to vote. He called it a “wonderful” development for election integrity during an interview with Fox News Digital.

“This bill requires proof of citizenship for registering to vote and also proof of residence to register to vote, and it is a milestone law that was the most important priority of our conservative reform agenda of the elections that we have brought to the general session of 2025 and really has the first state in the country to have a ironwalworthy,” Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray told Fox News Digital.

“Because Wyoming has an exemption from the National Voter Registration Act, which means that we can apply that proof of citizenship requirements to all varieties, it is also quite strong because it has no care that the judgment of the election judges can overwrite the requirement, and it creates this requirement to register to vote.”

The measure, which is mandatory voters that one of the nine different options that prove citizenship and residence, will become law on July 1 after the Republican government of Wyoming, Mark Gordon, allowed the bill to become his law last Friday without his signature.

In one Letter to GrayGordon said that he could not sign the bill because of various concerns he documented, including possible legal issues, but admitted that it ultimately offers some “useful improvements” that he would allow to become a law without his signature.

Gray told Fox News Digital.

“This is a huge priority of President Trump and we support President Trump 100%,” said Gray. “The people of Wyoming are the huge winners here, and I think it will have a huge effect in terms of spending this at state level, and I am very hopeful that it will also be spent on the floor of the house of delegates in Washington in the coming weeks.”

Gray told Fox News Digital: “It is in line with where President Trump works at the federal level with the Save Act, who will hopefully be on the ground of the congress soon, and to be the first state in the nation that that IronClad has certificate of the citizenship requirement.

Trump has been a vocal advocate of the Safeguard American Voter Eligricity (Save) Act, who wants to ensure that non -citizens cannot vote for federal elections. Republican legislators recently renewed A push to move that account through the congress.

On Tuesday, Trump signed an executive order They demand that people provide proof of American citizenship when they register to vote and demand that all ballot papers are assessed on election day.

The order requires proof of American citizenship issued by the government to its voter registration forms, the attorney-general instructs to conclude information with state elections to identify cases of election fraud or others Mazesand conditions federal election -related funds on states that meet the measures of federal election integrity.

“There are other steps that we will take in the coming weeks,” Trump said just before we sign the order. “We think we can eventually get honest elections.”
