Doonychus tsogtbaatari would be skilled in catching vegetation

Scientists in the Gobi Mongolian desert have discovered a rare kind of doubted dinosaurs.

The species, named Duonychus Tsogtbaatari, was unique in a group of dinosaurs called therizinosaurs, which stood on their rear legs and usually had three claws.

It was medium, with an estimated weight of about 260 pounds.

Researchers believe that long, curved claws and its ability to bend them strongly would make them an effective tape of vegetation.

Therizinosaurs were a group of herbivores or an outlying dinosaur terror who lived in Asia and North America during the chalk, which began 145 million years ago and ended 66 million years ago.

Examples are a massive, long -standing form of Therizinosaurus, which was presented in the Jurassic World Dominion movie, and “clumsy look”, according to one of the author Dr. Darla Zelenitsky, an associate professor at the University of Calgary.

The sample was extracted from Bayanshiree’s formation in the Gobi desert from Mongolia, dating from the late chalk (between 100.5 and 66 million years).

UNESCO, un -‘educational, scientific and cultural organization, calls the desert of the Mongolian Gobi the largest dinosaur fossil reservoir in the world.

The region is a particularly important source of fossil from later core periods, which is the last of the main three periods of dinosaur age, which is the latest phase of dinosaur evolution.

Claws could also be used as a huge weapon

Almost feet long, the claws themselves were much larger than their fundamental bone, the study revealed.

In addition to better capture, two fingers’ hands may have been used to display, dig or as a terrible weapon.

The most famous two -fingered terror are types within the tyrannosauride group, which include Tyrannosaurus Rex, but Duonychus developed its two fingers separate from them and from other two fingers.

The sample also keeps the first Keratin wrapper of Terizinosaur, an element that covers claws similar to human nails, helping defense, movement or capture of prey.
