Matt Patricia to Ohio State emphasizes Top College Football Coaching Appearances

Of Ohio State The Buckeyes are set to hire triple super bowl champion and former NFL head coach Matt Patricia, which has been concluded a raw four weeks of coaches. Patricia, 50, will coordinate the defense in Columbus, Ohio.

The recruitments of Patricia the second time that the day has hired a former coordinator of New England Patriots in any years. Although Bill O’Brien’s stay in Columbus lasted less than a month, Day clearly has a fascination for Bill Belichick coaching and has searched for individuals who have coached in the NFL, no different than him, and have the highest achievement reached from professional football.

Day has had to replace defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, who left to take the same position in Penn State, and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who left to become the OC for the Las Vegas Raiders of Pete Carroll. He replaced his 2024 offensive line coach, Justin Frye, who left to become offensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals, with former Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen, and raised attacking assistant Billy Fessler to Quarterbacks -Coach.

Day Promoted Tight Ends Coach Keenan Bailey to coordinator, safety coach Matt Guerrieri as passing game coordinator and broad receiver coach Brian Hartline to offensive coordinator.

While the Buckeyes have returned their coaching staff with new names and new titles, others have been busy doing the same thing. Notre Dame rented former OHIO State Defensive coordinator Chris Ash in replacing Al Golden, who became defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, and hired Penn State in those back -backs coach Ja’juan Seider in the same position.

Clemson, Oklahoma and Alabama have all made important changes to the level of the coordinator. Balen Deboer will get the 2023 tire together again after hiring his offensive coordinator in Washington, Ryan Grubb, after having spent a year in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks.

Here is a look at some of the other changes in the top coaching staff that have occurred outside the season this season:

Brian Hartline, Ohio Stateattacking coordinator

Following the news that he became the second highest coach in the sport after winning the National Championship 2024, Ryan Day Star Wide Receiver Coach Brian Hartline increased to offensive coordinator.

With his promotion, Day keeps the best wide recipient coach in the history of Buckeye in the fold and checks an attack with his most talented recruit so far in Jeremiah Smith. However, it has been the work of Hartline since he came to Ohio State’s staff in 2017, that he gave him this opportunity as a full-time play-caller.

Hartline has coached four all-Americans, four first round NFL selections and a Biletnikoff Award winner. Marvin Harrison, Jr. became the first wideout of the program that has won the Biletnikoff Award since 1995. Emeka Egbuka left after breaking the program record for receptions. Chris Olave left with the program record for TD catches.

Will Hartline be such a good playing caller when he is a receiver coach? As a Buckeye, he is no stranger to winning and producing at a high level, dating from his gaming career in Columbus, where he won four consecutive Big Ten titles (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) and played in the BCS National Title Game Back-to-back seasons (2006, 2007).

Marshall Faulk, ColoradoBacks Backs Coach

With the addition of Dion Sanders from Faulk, the Coaching Staff of Colorado now claims three Pro Football Hall of Famers. Faulk, the number 2 overall selection in the NFL design of 1994, represents the dedication of Sanders to develop a declining group that has been the least effective aspect of Colorado’s attack on his two-year Stint.

In 2024, Colorado hurried for only 2.5 yards per Carry and 65 yards per game. That was good enough for the last time in the FBS and 11 yards per match less than the team stood before: Kent State, who ended 0-12.

However, what can be seen from Faulk, is he can recruit, and can he both coach when he played? Those answers will reveal themselves in due course, but there is no doubt that the Star Power Faulk will give a decisive lead over his counterparts and give him the opportunity to recruit the best running backs in the country to Boulder, Colorado.

Jim Knowles, Penn Statedefensive coordinator

After the loss of Tom Allen, who helped to guide the Nittany Lions to their first CFP performance last season, Penn State coach James Franklin Knowles from Ohio State rented out. When hiring Knowles, Penn State made a blow to rival and national champion Ohio State and added the man who was responsible for developing the best defense in the country.

In 2024, the unit of Knowles number 1 was in scoring defense, total defense, permitted yields per piece, touchdowns allowed per piece and opponents who are scored in the red zone. He also saw that safety Caleb Downs became a unanimous all-American selection.

Given how close to the Nittany Lions were to play for their first national title since 1986, Franklin and his program have doubled by making Knowles the best -paid coordinator in the country at a reported $ 3.1 million a year .

Tom Allen, Clemsondefensive coordinator

Dabo Swinney was the first to acknowledge how close to his team was to play for the national championship when the Southern Methodist defeated the ACC title and earned an opportunity to play against Texas in the CFP. The tigers were stopped by a defense chased with Wes Goodwin at the helm.

Knowing this hired Swinney Tom Allen from Penn State after his Nittany Lion defense PSU’s first performance in the CFP anchored. Along the way, Penn State no. 2 ended in tackles for loss (119), no. 5 in bags (44), no. 7 in total defense (294.8 yards) and no. 8 in scoring defense (16.5 points per match).

Brent Venables, Oklaholahead coach and defensive playcaller

After a disappointing debut campaign in the SEC, Oklahoma coach Brent Venables was forced to make changes before the team’s first match was completed in the conference. By the time Oklahoma suffered his first loss of the season, a defeat of 25-15 against Tennessee, Venables had drawn former five stars and started QB Jackson Arnold. Less than a month later he fired offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. Nevertheless, Oklahoma managed to make No. 7 Alabama van Owen Field upset and earned bowl fitness, only to lose to the navy.

On the way to 2025, Venables has only enjoyed one winning season in three years and is responsible for the only losing seasons that the Sooners suffered in the 21st century. He also faces the challenge of not only replacing his attacking coordinator, but also his defensive coordinator, with the decision of ZAC Alley to return to Rich Rodriguez in West Virginia.

The result was that Oklahoma hired the former offensive coordinator of the state of Washington, Ben Arbuckle as a lure for Quarterback John – it worked – and fenes hiring themselves to name the defense. With those two decisions, Venables has left no doubt that he is willing to use every tool he has at his disposal to turn Oklahoma into a title candidate in 2025.

Return to Playcalling van Venables is praised because he is one of the best defensive playcallers of the 21st century – after he has won two national titles at Clemson and as Linebackers coach at Oklahoma in 2000.
